Ms Rosa Parks intends to not go out in the face of what she considers an injustice. As many of you know, the Mother of the Civil Rights Movement had some major misgivings with the popular group Outkast. She launched a lawsuit against them when she discovered they had named their Grammy award winning song after her. She was upset with the groups use of profanity. Outkast who were seriously taken aback emphatically noted that they were inspired by Ms Parks and in no way intended to disrespect her. Ms Park's lawyers claimed that her Right to Privacy was violated and Outkast's lawyers claimed it was a matter of free speech. In November a judge ruled that Outkast had a right to name a song after Ms Parks.. Everyone thought it was over and done with.. But we're talking about a woman who refused to move to the back of a bus.. Hence Ms parks has just filed an appeal to overturn this decision..Looks like Outkast is in for a long battle... We'll keep you posted as this develops. |
